Day 01: Arrive Chennai

On arrival at Chennai airport you will be welcomed by GIA’s representative. After meeting you will be transferred to your pre booked hotel for overnight stay

 

Day 02: Chennai Sightseeing

After breakfast you will be heading for guided sightseeing tour. Chennai is the “gateway to south India”, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Overnight at hotel

 

Day 03: Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram – Trichy (by train)

Today after early breakfast we will leave for an excursion to Kancheepuram and Mahabalipuram. Kancheepuram is about 64 Km from Chennai and is famous for temples. It is also called the “city of thousand temples”. Later we will go to Mahabalipuram famous for the seven pagodas. It also has on its seashore an ancient group of rock hewn temples which represent the Dravidian style of architecture. Later in the afternoon drive back to Chennai railway station to board your evening train to Trichy. Arrive Trichy and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 04: Trichy Sightseeing

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Trichy. Trichy is situated on the bank of the river Kaveri, it was once ruled by Chola dynasty in the medieval period. Overnight at hotel

 

Day 05: Trichy – Tanjore – Madurai (255 kms / 5-6 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Madurai en-route visit Tanjore. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 06: Madurai

After breakfast leave for sightseeing of Madurai visit Meenakshi Sundareswara temple which was originally built by Kulasekara Pandya. Evening explore local markets. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 07: Madurai – Periyar (170 kms / 4 hrs)

After a relaxed breakfast drive to Periyar wildlife sanctuary situated in the lap of the Western Ghats.  Afternoon enjoy motorboat ride on Periyar Lake to get Wildlife experience. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 08: Periyar – Kumarakom (125 kms / 3.5 hrs) – Alleppey (by cruise)

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom to board houseboat for overnight cruise. All meals will be served on houseboat during cruise. Overnight in Houseboat.

 

Day 09: Arrive Alleppey / Cochin (63 kms / 2 hrs)

After breakfast disembark houseboat and drive to Cochin. Upon arrival enjoy the sightseeing of Cochin visiting Jewish synagogue, St. Francis church, Dutch Palace and fishing nets. Evening enjoy “Kathakali” dance show at nearby theater. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10: Cochin – Bangalore (by flight)

Morning transfer to airport to board your flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival you will be met our representative and transferred to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Bangalore, visiting Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, Tippu's Palace, Government Aquarium, Gandhi Bhavan, and Lalbagh Gardens. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 11: Bangalore – Mysore (143 kms / 3 hrs)

After breakfast drive to the sandalwood city, Mysore. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 

Afterward proceed to visit the Art Gallery and later drive to Chamundi hill to see Chamundeshwari Temple and have a spectacular view of Mysore. On the way back, have a glimpse of the Nandi the Bull. Evening free to discover the city on your own. Overnight stay in Mysore.

 

Day 12: Mysore

Full day enjoy sightseeing tour of Mysore. Evening is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 13: Mysore – Hassan (119 kms / 3 hrs) – Excursion to Belur & Halebid

After breakfast drive to Hassan. Upon arrival check-in at hotel for wash & change. Afternoon excursion to Belur and Halebid. Overnight at hotel in Hassan.

 

Day 14: Hassan – Hampi – Hospet (330 kms / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Hospet enroute visit Hampi. The once beautiful capital city of Vijayanagar Empire - greater than Rome, had temples, palaces & sculptures, strewn all over. The city was destroyed by the Sultanates of South in 1565. Still one can see the remains of Vitala, Virupaksha and Hazara Rama temples huge Narasimha and Ganesha images, the Haathi-Ghar, the Queen's Bathroom, carvings on the Ram Chandra temple & Lotus Mahal. Overnight at hotel in Hospet.

 

Day 15: Hospet – Badami (134 kms / 3 hrs)

Today drive to Badami enroute visiting Pattadakal & Aihole. Pattadakal, visit Sanghameswara Temple is the oldest among this group. The life of Lord Krishna is carved on the pillars of the Mallikarjuna Temple. Aihole is the frame of stone temple structural design of the southern Dravida School. Later continue drive to Badami. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 16: Badami

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Badami also known as Vatapi is rich with one Jain and three Hindu temples. The carved temples were built in 6th century. Sculptured out of solid sand stone rock they are decorated with art forms. The Fort is atop a hill and has large halls which were use to store food grains, a watch tower & treasury. The Malegitti Shivalaya temple set on a hill is built of stones. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 17: Badami – Goa (255 kms / 5-6 hrs)

Morning drive to one of the finest beach destination Goa, famous for its Portuguese style buildings and white sand sunny beaches. Overnight at hotel

 

Day 18: Goa

Full day free for independent activities. Overnight at hotel

 

Day 19: Goa - Bombay (Flight)

Morning transfer to Goa airport to board flight to Mumbai from where you can take connecting flight for onward destination.
